Notes:	Supply List: *** start with materials you already have in your art box and around the house. No need to purchase extra. - Canvas boards or wood boards in the size you would like to create - Mixed Media paper - acrylic paint - charcoal Kkkk - oil paint - pastels - oil sticks - mediums - needle a d thread - old photographs, magazine cut outs, postcards - white glue or modge podge in the finish of your choice (gloss, semi gloss or mate) - brushes, container for water and old rags Mark-makers for texture: - sponge - tooth brush - feather - bubble wrap - thread - roller - spray bottle - bottle caps - cork - anything you could use to leave a mark or create texture. Use your imagination!

Unleash your creativity in this hands-on mixed media class that blends traditional and unconventional materials. Working with acrylics, oil pastels, charcoal, soft pastels, and collage, students will explore layering, texture, and personal expression. Each session offers guided instruction while encouraging experimentation and play.

In addition to classic media, we’ll incorporate natural pigments like coffee, turmeric, and beet juice, adding a sensory and cultural dimension to the creative process. Whether you’re building a personal series or simply exploring, this class offers a supportive space to discover new techniques and let your ideas flow. Must have some basic experience with painting.

Instructor Bio:

Carol Santos is a Brazilian born; Atlanta based artist. Her work is deeply personal and explores the lost narratives of oral history. Her sculptures, paintings, textiles, installations, and conceptual art investigate nostalgia and identity, creating connections with the viewer. Carol holds a bachelor's in communication and marketing, a master's in integrated marketing and communication, and recent graduate (May 2023) with a master’s in fine arts, Painting, from the Savannah College of Arts and Design. Santos’ studio is in Sandy Springs, where she lives with her husband and three children.
