Acrylic Painting Supplies Please feel free to bring anything not on the list. Remember to wear your paint clothes or a smock. Brushes: Have points and flats. Inexpensive set on Amazon: robert simmons brushes Acrylic Colors I like the Liquitex professional line and Golden Acrylics. I use a “double primary” palette. Examples: · cadmium red medium and napthol crimson (or alizarin crimson ) · cadmium yellow medium and lemon yellow (or hansa yellow) · ultramarine blue and phthalo blue · burnt umber · Titanium white (buy artist grade for this color even if all other paints are student grade) Surfaces · An 8” x 10” surface for painting exercise: heavy weight gessoed paper (100-140 lb), or a canvas panel or a sketch book with heavy paper · Stretched canvas, canvas board or canvas pad 8” x 10” or larger Other Supplies · Bring in several photos to choose from either printed or digital. Anything that you find interesting or inspiring is appropriate. · Paper towels · Palette knife for mixing · A flat, non-absorbent palette. I use a disposable paint palette pad, but glass is ok along with paper plates or aluminum foil. I don’t recommend the small plastic palettes intended for watercolors. Optional · Acrylic Matte Medium - (fluid not gel) · Pencil or charcoal for sketching and image transfer · Mister for water (keeps paints moist on the palette) www.LADAMSART.com
