Supply List: Paint *acrylic or watercolor Cadmium Red Medium and Permanent Rose Cadmium Yellow Light and Cadmium Yellow Medium Ultramarine Blue and Phthalo Blue Titanium White for acrylics (buy professional grade even if all other paints are student grade) Mars Black 6 Surfaces for Exercises This can be a multimedia paper, watercolor paper, Bristol board, illustration board, etc. approx. 10” x 8” or 12” x 9”. Choose a sturdy surface or paper that is at least 140 lb. Brushes Size 6 or 8 round and 1/2 “ flat or filbert Other Palette appropriate for your chosen medium (any slick, non-absorbent surface works. I prefer disposable paint palette pads for acrylic and traditional palette with wells for watercolor) paper towels water container Mister bottle for water Pencil and eraser Suggested Reading: Color Theory: An Essential Guide to Color From Basic Principles to Practical Applications, By Patti Mollica The Watercolorist’s Essential Notebook by Gordon MacKenzie (this has a great section on color theory)

A Southern artist and native of rural middle Georgia, Lauren Adams has explored and experimented with painting and drawing most of her life. Inspired by her southern roots and the natural world, her work runs the gamut from figurative to landscape and beyond. Adams holds an MFA in painting from the Savannah College of Art & Design. And in addition to her studio practice, she currently teaches adult painting classes in a wide variety of media at various arts centers in Georgia. Adams’ work can be found in many private and public collections throughout the Southeast, including the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta and the Historical Society of Sandersville, GA.
