Notes:	Supply List: White Board Canvas 9 x 16 and 11 x 14 Preference of size for regular canvases Toned Gray and Tan sketch paper Masterson Paper Palette and Palette Paper Acrylic Tube Paints: Titanium White, Ivory or Mars Black, Yellow Ochre, Burnt Sienna, Cad Yellow light, Cad Yellow Medium, Orange, Cad Red Medium, Alizarian Crimson, Dioxine or Winsor Purple, Magenta (preferably Quinacridone), Ultramarine Blue, Cereluan Blue, Turquoise, Light Green, Phylo or Viridian Green, Matte Medium Assortment of acrylic brushes used in previous classes.

This course this for those who have experienced Drawing and Painting ONE and TWO and wish to continue on in Studio Fashion to explore personal expression in non-objective painting. This will be a concentration on mixed media and variations in expression using acrylic paints, charcoal and pastels. Works on paper as well as canvas will continue to be explored.

Experimental Painting is all about using unfamiliar techniques and subject matter to create authentic work that the viewer can feel as well as see. Understanding Foundation and Color Theory application will be applied as well as all the other individual issues applied in the previous session. This will also open the artist up to seeing what the modern master were doing and why they are so important to Art History

Warning: Do NOT wear nice clothes. Certain projects will be painted with bare hands and charcoal.

Instructor Bio:

Since enrolling in her first painting class in 1985 at a community arts center in Atlanta, Carolyn E. Rose has been actively interested in painting. She could tell right away how much drawing and painting meant to her. She earned a BFA in painting and drawing from SCAD in 2001 and an MFA in painting and drawing from Georgia State University in 2006. The High Museum of Art, the Woman Made Gallery in Chicago, and various other galleries in the Southeast have all displayed her work. She has experience teaching college students at all levels in drawing and painting, illustration, foundations (color theory & 2D design), art history, fashion history, and fashion design.
